Collaboration with Oil and Gas Development Company Limited
Norhydro Pvt Limited is exploring collaboration opportunities with the Oil and Gas Development Company Limited (OGDCL) as part of OGDCL’s strategic intent to diversify its investment portfolio into the renewable energy sector. Several high-level meetings have been held between the two organizations to structure a partnership. By combining OGDCL’s strength and Norhydro’s expertise in renewable energy, the collaboration aims to unlock the significant hydropower potential in the region, driving sustainable energy development and contributing to Pakistan’s clean energy transition.

To advance this initiative, a joint field visit to Skardu and Gilgit was conducted, where representatives from both organizations assessed potential project sites and held strategic meetings. Key discussions took place with the Chief Secretary of Gilgit-Baltistan and officials from the Water and Power Department, reinforcing the commitment of local authorities to support sustainable energy development in the region.

This collaboration aims to develop hydropower infrastructure that not only meets the growing energy demand of Gilgit-Baltistan but also contributes to Pakistan’s broader energy goals.
